Built in the late 19th century by Canadian Pacific Railways, the hotel's architecture was inspired by architectural styles of the Middle Ages and the Renaissance. Steeped in Canada's French heritage, and presenting a marriage of the flavours of the past with the sophistication of the present, Chef Jean Soulard's dishes are served by staff outfitted in delightful period costumes. On weekends, the soft tones of harp music enhance the atmosphere. Enjoy the casual ambiance of the Café de la Terrasse, a relaxed setting with an incomparable view on the St-Lawrence River, featuring à la carte and buffet menus. La Rotonde is a French brasserie-style restaurant, and the very first restaurant to be located on Dufferin Terrace. Le Bistro stays cosy in winter, cool and breezy in summer and features great light meals. Finally, the St. Laurent Bar & Lounge, with its sophisticated yet relaxed atmosphere, is the perfect setting to fully appreciate the hotel's famous Martinis, or to unwind with a digestif or the best of Cuban cigars. Relax in the Health Club, featuring an indoor lap pool, whirlpool, children's wading pool, steam rooms and a fully equipped exercise facility. In addition, the Massage Therapy Salon offers massages and body treatments.
